Remembering Nate

The friend who never met a stranger

Nathan Roden — his happy place

Nathan Daniel Roden — Nate to everyone who loved him — was born in Lithia Springs, Georgia on August 11, 1988, and grew up in and around Douglasville, where he never met a stranger. His infectious spirit and that unforgettable belly laugh could fill any room — 3,000 friends on Facebook barely scratched the surface of the lives he touched.

He spent more than fifteen years in roofing sales, most recently with Safeguard Roofing, but his real work was showing up: beach trips to Panama City, charity motorcycle rides, mud runs, Georgia Bulldogs game days, and late nights of music that turned into the best stories. He loved his motorcycles, his trucks, and his music — and above all his people, to whom he'd give the shirt off his back. Sometimes even to a stranger.

Big heart, bigger laugh, and an engine for every adventure — motorcycles, the Slingshot, and trucks (let's not talk about the golf cart). This is a place for everyone who loved him to gather — share a memory, a photo, a story, and keep him close.
