His story

Remembering Nate

Nathan Roden

Nathan Daniel Roden — Nate to everyone who loved him — was born in Lithia Springs, Georgia on August 11, 1988, and grew up in and around Douglasville, where he never met a stranger. His infectious spirit and that unforgettable belly laugh could fill any room — 3,000 friends on Facebook barely scratched the surface of the lives he touched.

He spent more than fifteen years in roofing sales, most recently with Safeguard Roofing, but his real work was showing up: beach trips to Panama City, charity motorcycle rides, mud runs, Georgia Bulldogs game days, and late nights of music that turned into the best stories. He loved his motorcycles, his trucks, and his music — and above all his people, to whom he'd give the shirt off his back. Sometimes even to a stranger.

Nate liked to say he wasn't here for a long time — he was here for a good time. And what a good time it was: singing badly, dancing proudly, and laughing until it hurt. If you knew him, you have a story. Add yours on the memory wall, so that the way he made us all feel never fades.
